West Lake This 256 hectare park offers outdoor adventure year-round; hiking, boating and swimming in the summer, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and tobogganing in the winter.

Most of the parks area is made up of natural wetlands and forests where lodgepole pine, trembling aspen and white spruce grow on the dry, gravelly soil.

The West Lake Provincial Park offers superb habitat for moose, deer, beaver and a wide variety of birdlife such as the osprey and belted kingfisher.

The park is located 22 km southwest of Prince George on the West Lake Road.
Day-use facilities - The expansive, sandy beaches of West Lake are the perfect place for a picnic or just to relax. Changehouses, fire pits and picnic tables are located nearby. Also provided in the park are a play field, volleyball nets and horseshoe pits. Two group picnic areas are available for groups of up to 100. The park is wheelchair accessible. The day-use area and boat launch are open from 8:00 am to dusk.

Fishing and Boating - A boat launch is provided for those interested in boating, water skiing or fishing. The lake has been stocked with rainbow trout.

Hiking and Skiing - An extensive 15 km trail system winds through the park making it a haven for cross-country skiers. Enclosed shelters are located beside the lake for warming up. In summer these trails offer rustic walking paths.
