Mountain Biking in British Columbia

Mountain Biking in Northern BC
Yellowhead Hwy #16

Like other areas in British Columbia, mountain biking is really growing fast and becoming really active in Northern BC.

The city of Prince George, the largest centre in this region, has a very active cycling club whose members are constantly working on developing new trails. But in the meantime you're invited to try the Otway Nordic Center Trails that offer bikers a bit of everything, from flat riding to steep downhills such as the Descent of Doom.

Smithers and the Bulkley Valley area have a number of trails. There's the Perimeter Trail, easy family going, which circumnavigates the town. For a great view of Smithers and the Bulkley Valley, take the Malkow Lookout Trail that is a moderate ride. If you're looking for a course that is difficult, take the Cronin Pass Trail into the Babine Mountains. The Telkwa-Terrace Route is an excellent overnight trip, so plan this trip carefully and be prepared. Be safe, have fun!
