Fishing Report: Knouff provides a good fishery for Rainbows up into the 3 lb. class, however fish have been caught in the 12+ lb. range. Fly fishermen should key on the Chironomid, Mayfly, Damselfly and Caddisfly hatches that occur from May to early July. Fishing the shoal areas and around the islands will bring you the most success.
Be sure to visit Fishbc.com for angling information!

Viewscape: Knouff is surrounded by rolling hills of pine and aspen. Located in the lake are 5 small islands covered with pine.

Shoreline: Knouff is a clear water lake with a gravel bottom and extensive areas of shoal.

Nearby Lakes

Little Knouff Lake - Little Knouff Lake with a surface area of 40 ha. (99 ac.) is located just minutes to the north of Knouff Lake. It is a shallow lake with a marl bottom that can on occassion produce large Rainbows. Most of the fishing is concentrated in a small area of deep water located in the centre of the lake, however, fly fishermen do well exploring the shoal areas especially near dusk when larger fish come into feed.

Note: Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start fishing a new lake.
