Silverton
is located on the eastern shore of Slocan Lake in a deep valley
between the Valhalla and Slocan ranges of the Selkirk Mountains.
This small community is a historic mining town.
The Silverton Gallery features summer exhibitions of photography
and work of local artists. The Valhalla Music Centre, an annual
retreat for performing artists, gives the residents of Silverton
an opportunity to hear some to the world's finest music.

Silverton is accessed by Highway 6, a secondary paved highway,
south of New Denver and 27 km (17 miles) north of Slocan.
