Binta is located approximately 58 km. (36 mi.) south of the town
of Burns Lake. From Burns Lake
turn south onto Hwy. #35 and travel to the community of Francois
Lake. Take the free, 20 minute ferry ride across Francois
Lake to the community of Southbank. From the ferry dock at Southbank
turn left and follow the main road heading southeast to Uncha
Lake. Turn right on Campbell Road and next onto Binta Road
which will take you to the lake. The roads are well marked.
Two BCFS campsites can be found on the lake.
Report: Binta supports a good Rainbow and Lake Char
fishery. Much like Uncha Lake, Rainbows will reach up to 2+ lbs.
while Char are capable of 20+ lbs. Deep trolling with spoons or
plugs is your best bet for landing one of these monsters. Rainbows
are caught either by trolling smaller lures such as flatfish or
with spinning gear. Flies (especially attractor patterns) work
well in the shallow bay areas either by casting or trolling. Be sure to visit Fishbc.com
for angling information!
Always check your current BC Fishing regulations before you start
fishing a new lake.
