just 65 miles (105km) NW of Kamloops, British Columbia, we
are the only resort in the North Thompson area with over 30
small lakes joined by streams. These lakes are filled with
naturally reproducing with wild Kamloops Rainbow trout, perfect
for flyfishing and float tubing. Enjoy hiking trails into
the lakes, mountain biking, observing the wildlife, or just
take it easy and relax. A warm welcome from Neil and Dawn
Beeman awaits you at Thuya Lakes Lodge. Our remote wilderness
location between Kamloops and Clearwater is ideally suited
to the individual who desires to get away from it all. It's

Trout Fishing

Located just a short drive from Kamloops, in BC's central
interior, we are within driving distance of Wells Gray Provincial
Park near Clearwater. With over 30 well managed mountain lakes
to choose from, connected by streams, we are a great location
for flyfishing for the world renowned Kamloops Rainbow trout.
Our lakes vary in size and deepness - most are under a mile
long with an average depth of 45 feet - and all self-spawn
with wild Kamloops Trout. We ensure that there are only 2
to 4 people on a lake at one time, and none of our lakes have
any resorts or private dwellings on them. Fish a lake a day,
as long as you stay!
Cozy Log Cabins
When you visit Thuya Lakes, you will stay in one of our eight
comfortable log cabins, all situated far enough apart to ensure
privacy, and all individually decorated with the kind of little
touches that will make your cabin "your home away from
home". All cabins are equipped with gas cooking stoves,
electric fridges, wood stoves for heating, running cold water,
basic pots, pans and dishes. You'll enjoy the "picture
postcard" views which change frequently as you relax
on your deck overlooking the lake … or sit by your campfire
and watch the fish jumping by the shore and loons swimming
back and forth.

We think fishing is important, but we have more to offer including
well maintained hiking and mountain bike trails, a small playground
for children, and you can take a dip in the lake. This is
a true nature lovers paradise with many animals, birds, trees,
flowers, berries, and mushrooms are to be found! Beautiful
Wells Gray Provincial Park located near Clearwater, B.C. is
just a two hour drive away, offering some of the best scenery
in the world! Take a drive up Highway 24 - the "Fishing
Highway" - to the Cariboo" - and check out all there
is to see and do.
