Seasmoke Whale Watching offers five and eight-hour "Sail with the Whales" tours, and four hour motor cruises to view orcas in the "critical" core habitat waters of Johnstone Strait near Alert Bay and Telegraph Cove, British Columbia.

Our whale watching tours with Seasmoke Whale Watching celebrate the wildness of Nature. Get a close-up view of resident orca pods and eavesdrop on their conversations using onboard hydrophones. On our sailing tour we pamper you with a Devonshire tea service: all food and beverages served onboard is organic and local when possible. Tours depart from the Alder Bay Resort on Vancouver Island and Alert Bay on Cormorant Island.

Along the way Bald Eagles soar high … Belted Kingfishers speed on by with a shrill cry uttered as only they know how. Harbour Seals lay on rocky outcrops … Stellar Sea Lions feed in the tide … and Dall's Porpoise dart back and forth as they dive and resurface with ease. A Humpback Whale's powerful breathe, the "blow" can be seen from miles away, lingering as sea smoke that is suspended momentarily and suddenly, an enormous fluke is glimpsed in the surge of a flooding tide.
