King Pacific Lodge -- It's a singular place.
A remote wilderness retreat, where the seasons, solitude and beauty effortlessly orchestrate pure contentment.

Luxury in the heart of the Canadian wilderness. Moored in the shelter of Barnard Harbour on Princess Royal Island, on the West Coast of British Columbia, King Pacific Lodge is quite simply the most luxurious wilderness lodge ever built. It has been designed for absolute comfort, and positioned to capture spectacular views of the landscape. A remarkably civilized place in the midst of absolute wilderness. Enviable – Extraordinary – and very exclusive.

A labor of love and the ultimate in comfort and beauty, King Pacific Lodge is crafted from massive timber, native stone and premium materials. Edge-cut fir, natural slate floors, splendid wrought-iron fixtures, custom-designed furniture, and intricate wood craftsmanship throughout.

Open from May to October, we offer one-of-a-kind wilderness experience packages for our guests to enjoy that include fly-in fishing, kayaking, spa treatments, and more. Soothe your mind with the spectacular serenity and scenery of our West Coast Canadian fly-in lodge. You can balance your energy with as much or as little adventure as you like, for we welcome all levels of fitness and skill, placing emphasis on comfort and first-rate service.

Activities available include:

  • World-class guided ocean fishing targeting the seasonal salmon species or halibut at any time. Gear and tackle are provided. Saltwater flyfishing is our specialty. We are located amongst the best flyfishing streams and rivers on the West Coast of British Columbia. Fly out via helicopter for spectacular trout fishing in May and June or catch Coho Salmon on a fly later in the season.
  • Let our guides take you by boat to mysterious BC rainforests, deserted beaches, alpine meadows or gushing waterfalls. Or, experience Heli-hiking to remote mountain ridges, snowy mountain tops or coastal regions. You can also glide silently under ancient cedar boughs, along cliff faces and into silent coves. See wildlife and marine creatures up close and enjoy a gentle paddle in Barnard Harbour. Let our naturalists’ guide you on the trail of the Kermode bear, unique to the vicinity; or, see pods of killer whales cruise silently by your boat or the tail flukes of the humpback whale as it dives. If you are interested in a gentle introduction to the splendors of the Northwest BC coast…Go for an outing on our 31' cabin cruiser to see sea lions, Orcas, eagles, deer, otters, bears and whales. Phosphorescent night cruises are also offered.
  • There is also Helicopter Flight-seeing letting you fly over the coastal fjords, soaring peaks & verdant valleys … you can learn to tie that perfect fly for tomorrow's fishing trip … and practice the ancient Japanese art of fish printing. Let our guides show you the best photographic locations or capture that shot of the rare Kermode Bear or breaching humpback whales. You can edit digital photography as soon as you get back to the lodge. Our naturalists can show you nature through different eyes, explore culturally modified trees or visit a Tsiamsian Longhouse (by arrangement only).

Did we mention the “Luxury amidst absolute wilderness?” Seventeen oversized accommodations await guests with views of the temperate rainforest, or expansive ocean views. Each spacious room features a king-size bed with luxurious down duvets, a comfortable window-side seating area, and a slate-lined bathroom with a deep soaker-tub. Choose between wilderness or ocean views. Fortify your adventurous spirit with dining as sensational as these wilds. Our executive chef deftly evolves culinary creations from traditional native recipes and seasonal sources of local delicacies. Feast from fresh sheets listing bounties of the sea, harvests from the forest and yields from this morning’s cull of wild berries and mushrooms. Sit before a place setting that mirrors the verdant greens and mountainous proportions you see out the windows.

We are also an ideal destination for small corporate retreats, or board-level roundtable meetings. Engulfed by miles of pristine BC wilderness, participants will find time to ponder, unwind and recharge. Whether the retreat is a reward or a working session devoted to relationship-building, business planning or brainstorming, the setting provides an escape from the bustle of daily life and an atmosphere of tranquility.
